Accessible Influence
Accessible Influence is a resource, service, and community for all who are committed to making the internet more inclusive for those with disabilities by creating and sharing accessible digital content. Approximately 20% of the population identifies as having a disability or impairment, many of which have an impact with they ways they interact with people and information on the internet. While people who create and share digital content do so because they have the desire to connect and engage with their audience, when it comes to accessibility many struggle with where or how to get started.
Removing Barriers, Maximizing Impact
At Accessible Influence you’ll learn how to write descriptive, yet concise, alternative text for all platforms and image content; the best apps and tools to add captions to your video and transcription to your audio; and how accessibility can improve your reach through SEO (search engine optimization). But most importantly, you’ll be able to maximize your impact by removing the digital barriers between yourself and those looking to connect with you.
About Theresa

I’m Theresa Mabe, a Maryland-based, visually impaired digital accessibility advocate with a passion for travel, entertainment, and style.
While earning a degree in digital media and web technology, I was diagnosed with a condition that causes progression vision loss. Rather than dwell on the uncertainty of my future, I looked at this as an opportunity: to use my personal experience and educational background to become a digital accessibility advocate, educating organizations, content creators, and anybody who shares information on the internet how they can amplify their message by reducing digital barriers.
I am also the co-host of the No-Guilt Disney Podcast and the owner of In Sight: Full Life, a website detailing my life as a visually impaired person and sharing news, stories, and tips centered around making travel, style, and entertainment more accessible.
Work With Me
In additional to creating accessible content and sharing digital accessibility tips online, I’m also available for social media and web accessibility auditing, on site training, and speaking engagements. Reach out by email at AccessibleInfluence@gmail.com for a media kit or more information.
